There are many different types of skin disorders. Even though the symptoms appear on the skin, the problem is systemic or internal and it can't be treated by topical creams or by masking what appears on the skin. Psoriasis

A female of 25 years came to our clinic with Psoriasis for the past 5 years. She was treated with steroid creams initially after which she stopped responding to even the stronger steroids. She was prescribed chemotherapy as her last resort and she turned away from it to find an alternate route to find a cure for her problems. When she came to the clinic, she had red, itchy, scaly and leathery skin that was bleeding on all of the skin folds like the elbow, wrist, armpits, behind the ears etc. She said that her complaints were aggravated in the evening and was better after a shower. She also reported that the scratching was almost pleasant but led to the bleeding from the skin. She was very embarrassed of her skin and didn’t have the desire to go out and socialize. She said there was pain in some spots of her skin that made her irritable and depressed. The patient also had food sensitivities and diarrhea in an everyday basis. She also had seasonal allergies and PMS.

The patient was treated for a period of 1 year during which, her complaints aggravated initially to eliminate toxins before it started getting better. Once the symptoms started improving, the skin on almost all her folds became normal except a few spots. Her allergies were practically nonexistent and her bowel movements became normal except on occasions where she ate highly processed foods. She was advised to follow good food and eating habits and an active life style. She was also recommended to do sun bathing early in the morning with oil applied on affected exposed parts every day. The patient is now on a once a month dose of the remedy and still remains Psoriasis free.

 

Dermatographic Urticaria

Also called as Dermographism is a skin disorder caused by a hypersensitive immune system. A pregnant woman aged 32 yrs in her first trimester came to our clinic with dermographism. She was prescribed steroids and anti-histamines even when she was pregnant, but the patient was afraid it will hurt her unborn child and hence sort an alternative and came to us. She has severe urticaria with the swelling appearing even with hard touch and she had severe itching and burning that prevented her from sleeping. She was prescribed a homeopathic remedy that would calm her immune system to function optimally instead of suppressing it. Her symptoms persisted for 2 months after the treatment was commenced. The patient was losing hope that she wouldn't get relief from her problem. She was prescribed a higher strength of the same remedy and the symptoms just disappeared in a week. This shows that the remedy had started working right away, but because it is not an anti-histamine, it doesn't mask the symptoms, but rather starts the repairing of the immune system to bring about health.
